Testing to ensure quality
Optical inspections
In-circuit testing
In the case of boards with a specially prepared printed circuit board, or after our analysis to assess the coverage of the test on the components on the board, we perform an “in-circuit” check with a flying probe machine to check for short circuits, incorrect or out-of-tolerance values, defective or absent components. Small functional tests can also be performed (e.g. checking the operation of relays, LEDs, etc.).
During in-circuit testing or before any functional test, it is possible to program almost all programmable devices such as microprocessors, flashes, eproms, etc.
Functional testing
Tests are usually performed on stand-alone benches according to customer specifications. VEE PRO7.5 software and HP AGILENT tools ensure that simulations and tests are applied to the functionality of the board, alternatively these are tested on specific benches where the operation of the customer’s “machine” is reproduced. The products are tested on A.T.E. test benches which, thanks to the help of PC-controlled software, developed in-house by Elettronica Bazzanese’s technical department, has over time made it possible to minimise “human error”, which on dedicated test benches could have a greater impact. In fact, the software tells the operator whether or not the test conforms to specifications, leaving no room for personal interpretation.
All instrumentation is calibrated annually at a S.I.T. centre. At the customer’s request, Elettronica Bazzanese can provide a traceability service for components and boards on which a barcode label is applied (the label is applied if all tests have been passed). Using the internal management system and special databases, it is possible to obtain traceability of the components mounted on each individual batch.
Visual inspection
At the end of the various tests envisaged, a general visual inspection is carried out in order to guarantee the customer a thoroughly clean product, free of traces of fluxes.
Boards that have not passed the tests at the end of the above-mentioned production processes or in the case of customer returns are repaired by our technicians using some of the latest and most functional equipment on the market.
Climatic Chamber
There is a climatic chamber in-house for performing burn-in tests, it is possible to perform tests from -80° C to +150° C and also with humidity simulation if required. The chamber can perform programmable test cycles or tests in manual mode by setting the desired temperature and humidity value.
